I have seen this problem caused by several different circuits depending on the model. Could be bad capacitors in the power supply or a defective digital board, light engine or color wheel. If the lamp is nearing 2 years of use, I would highly suspect that to be the culprit. If the lamp is fairly new, I would recommend having it looked at by a professional. If you suspect the lamp, pull it out and inspect it. Looking down through the front of the lamp, observe the center glass electrode and look for deformities in the glass stem or ball at the base of it. If there is a white cloud looking spot on one side of the glass ball, then the lamp is probably bad. The only way to tell if it is bad when it looks questionable is by trying anotherone in it’s place.
Could be a power problem, or there may be an occasional overload somewhere in the set or even a loose contact somewhere most modern set are designed to shut off in fault conditions however brief or random so the set doesnt overheat or catch fire or cause further damage to the set I would call out an engineer to diagnose the fault and give a repair quote its still cheaper than replacement at present.
