I can save over $600 on the TV I want (Samsung LN-T4665F) on Amazon.com vs. the two stores that carry it in my area (Circuit City, Best Buy). Yes–I’m concerned about what I would do should something go wrong with the set. But, in this case, am I saving enough money upfront to offset the price of a service problem? In other words, what are the odds that a set covered under manufacturer’s warranty would experience a problem that would cost more than $600 to fix? The set isn’t from an Amazon reseller, and yes–I realize it costs $200-$300 to ship it back to Amazon.

Probably cold capacitors…when they warm up they function fine.

I have Direct TV, will I get any channels in HD without getting the HD converter box? Is there anything I can do to see how HD looks on my TV before I get the box?

When I was watching, the screen went green and then said no signal. I hooked up the component video cables and it works. Any suggestions?

Samsung was bragging about the brightest brights and the blackest blacks on the new L.E.D. tvs. The only problem is, is that when I watch the tv at night I can see washed out blacks on the far corners of the tv. Even when I set the backlights all the way down and the brightness settings too, it still does it. Is this normal? Also if anyone else has one can you check if yours is the same way. Thanks to all who answer this question.
